FISKARDO is a picturesque fishing village located in the northern part of Kefalonia, surrounded by forests of cypress trees. Fiskardo is protected by the greek government in order to preserve its Venetian architecture and traditional houses. It offers a variety of good restaurants, cafés, sophisticated boutiques. At night, the lights, old buildings, yachts and restaurants create a magical mediterranean atmosphere.
THE BEACHES
The closest beach is located in the bay across the road. It is a quiet rocky beach far from the crowd. Foki beach, surrounded by olive trees, with a nice family taverna, is 5 minutes walking distance from the apartments. Emblisi beach is 1 km from the village and has white pebbles and crystal clear waters. The area has other beautiful beaches you can reach by car Kimilia, Dafnoudi, Alaties, Jerusalem and further away Agia Sofia, the famous Myrtos beach and Antisamos.
ACTIVITIES
The Footpaths of Erissos combine 3 trails. They all start from Fiskardo village. The lighthouse trail is the shortest and passes by the byzantine ruins and the Old Venetian lighthouse (renovated recently), - the Cypress trail & and the Battery trail. They are all easy to hike as they are under tree shade. They reveal the cultural and natural beauties of the area.
